The journey was tough, but worth it
The trip from Florida is a long, physically tolling one but the anticipation of the great weekend to come really makes it worth it. The Raw Spirit Festival is an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and the complete submergence into a more peaceful and beautiful environment. Sure, business is a major priority on these trips for most of the vendors but it’s very quickly overshadowed by the vibe of love and serenity. Sedona’s natural earth forces and the energy given off by thousands of happy, free spirit participants really sets the stage. Once again the vendors outdid themselves with new exciting, delicious, nutritious products with people and Earth in mind.
There is no sense of competition as you would find in a typical festival/trade show in an indoor convention center, situated in the middle of a big city. The vendors and participants are only one part of the festival. The speakers, the founders of this whole raw food movement, the encouragers, the authors, the voices behind us all shined on stage. Seeing everyone get comfortable on the grass, ears open, some with pens and paper in hand to take down any new information that will further them along their revolutionary journey. The community that natural foods has established really feels like a family and for us that is a big part of the experience. We are excited to be a part of this raw revolution. The desire to eat the worlds most nutritious and delicious foods is really a driving force behind our personal business goals.
So many new raw food products!
Some of the new products that caught our attention was a new line of superfood cereals by Living Intentions, we loved the Hemp & Greens. It was a balance of buckwheat sprouts, local blackberry honey, coconut, golden raisins, superfood mix, just to name a few. It was crunchy and scrumptious.
Below is a summary of the other new raw food products out there.
- Superfood Snacks - Adam created a line of superfood smoothie mixes that combines cacao powder, chia seeds with ingredients such as nori and alfalfa grass to make their Cacao Cream with Raw Cacao & Vanilla Bean smoothie mix.
- Omica Health – The best zeolites on the market. The product is called Super-Z-Lite . It comes in both liquid and capsule forms to help support and maintain a healthy immune system, increase circulation and boost natural energy. They also have the best Kombucha we have ever tasted. A must try.
- Sexy Raw Superhero – This new raw food book is by Jasmine Scalesciani. She explores the secrets to a vibrantly alive perfect body through the use of super foods and a step by step guide to awakining the superhero inside.
- High Integrity Foods – A wonderful raw chocolate company, famous for their golden bean raw chocolate bars launched it’s newest super food product. Bee Bread. Bee bread is fermented bee pollen with honey and beeswax still intact. Very crunchy and chewy at the same time.
- Cocopura - This company offers some of the best coconut oil on the market today. They also released a line of packaged super foods from goji berries to their candy like Jarrah Bee Pollen.
- Earthling Organics – A new company by Jacob Hopkins (same person who created those irresistible crunchy Jake’s Unbaked bars. He was selling organic super soft shirts and his new granola “Rawnola”. It is our new favorite treat. It is crunchy clusters made from almonds, pumpkin seeds, coconut, figs, agave nectar, and sea salt. It will soon be available online for sale.
- Raw Vegan Radio – The always wonderful Steven Prussack was at the fest interviewing people live for his raw radio website and now San Francisco Radio Green 960AM - SAT 5-6pm. He was a major sponsor for the raw fest this year. Steven also was MC’ing at the indoor stage and led a sharing and prosperity circle.
- Bright Earth Foods – These guys have the best noni juice on the market. It is raw, organic, unpasteurized, mature Noni juice, stabilized with micro clusters of diatomic colloidal gold, silver, and platinum. Delicious and good for you!
- Everything Raw Co – A good friend of ours Paul Mamakos produces some of the tastiest raw bars. The Yoga bar is our personal favorite. It combines Cacao Butter, Dates, Cashews, Pistachios, Honey, and lots of love. It tastes like cookie dough and white chocolate. Paul will be coming out with a line of mini raw bars in the near future. Stay tuned!
- Natural News – Mike Adams and his crew were at the festival going around the booths and interviewing many folks about their new products and companies. He writes with a passion and informs the readers about the most up to date superfoods and breaking health news.
- Earth Source Organics – Audrey, Jacob and Amanda produce one of our top favorite perfectly tempered raw chocolate bars. These dark chocolate bars have three different delicious fillings like goji berries, caramel and maca. The caramel is the most flavorful and unique.
- Sprout Living – Of course we were at the festival launching our brand new, all raw and organic sprout based protein super food along with our line of freeze dried sprout powders.
We were serving up the freshest sprout salads with our creamy super food citrus dressing.

So many people, so little time
Sorry if we missed anyone. All the raw companies were wonderful and unique. For now, we will be counting down the days - actually we will just be going through the seasons until it feels like it’s time for the next Raw Spirit Festival. A big thanks to all the people behind the scenes for their invaluable contributions to this event.
Until next year!
