I have been inspired by so many people in the raw food community, but one amazing woman has really been particularly inspiring to me. I love her mission! I’m honored she has taken the time to do this interview for us, while she was on vacation in the Bahamas no less….
The amazing, talented, loving..Stacy Stowers!

Well done and congratulations on getting to Part 5! Today is a great day indeed because today you get to pull all of the pieces together and have a ball imagining all of the great foods and meals you’re going to be moving forward with. Today’s assignment is going to be pretty lengthy - there’s simply no way around that - however, I know that you’re going to love it, thank me for it and be so glad you carried on even though you might feel a very strong pull to distract yourself and not go the final mile. I…

Am I delighted to be featuring a very dear friend of mine today, Angelena Bosco. Several years ago when I was just getting into raw foods, Angelena was my first teacher! We have since become close friends and I just admire her so much for what she brings to the community, who she is as a woman and for the dear friend she is. She lives on a huge orange and avocado orchard and since moving to Utah I really miss her deliveries of oranges! So if you are in the So Cal area and want the best oranges around, give her a call!

Fasting is one of natures greatest healing gifts. It allows the entire system to rest and regenerate, release impurities, cleanse the blood stream and reboot the immune system.. Just as when you over work your body and mind without enough rest, you eventually wear yourself down. The digestive system needs a little vacation from food.

This recipe is perfect as a refreshing snack, brunch or breakfast… and yes, even dessert. Basically it is fabulous at any time of day! For an extra nutritional boost that’s hard to beat, bee pollen features in this recipe. It works really well with the recipe and adds a certain something, but it’s optional so go ahead and try it either way! EQUIPMENT Blender INGREDIENTS 2 cups frozen raspberries Juice of 2 oranges 1 ripe banana 3 Medjool dates OPTIONAL: 1 Tbsp bee pollen DIRECTIONS Place the peeled and chopped banana in your blender along with the pitted dates and…

A juice fast is a fantastic way to jump start a spring cleanse, or any cleanse for that matter. Even just adding a juice or two throughout your day will give you awesome benefits. Everyone is in a different place when they begin so avoid, what my coach calls the “compare and despair” mindset. I know I for one didn’t start off doing a 90 day juice fast. I started by swapping breakfast for a juice and built on from there.

Listen to this Phd. Biochemist, Hagen Schroeter, talk about food research.
Here is the concept I found most interesting:
We can say flaxseeds (my example) are good for you or that some part of the seed is good for you. What part survives food processing? What compound results in your body’s metabolism of the seed? What compounds (if any) remain bio-active and move systemically? I think I got that right, feel free to listen and provide feedback. He explains why it is not simple to see the mechanism or reality of why a particular food is good for you.

Spring is in the air! I see little buds emerging on the trees, the birds are singing and despite the occasional snow flurry, there is fresh green grass coming up! I have to say, moving from Southern California where we mostly get some variations of summer warmth, I have enjoyed the seasons here in Utah. (But I’m ready for some sunshine!)
Being indoors far more often than I’m used to and the chilly temps have caused me to not be as active outdoors and eat heavier foods than I’m used and consequently I’ve gained some weight. I’m ready for a Spring Cleanse. How about you?

I’m so happy to be featuring my “Friday Person of the Week” again! This week, my dear friend Angela Elliot steps into the spotlight! I have to say Angela is one of the most energetic and adorable people I know! She has a beautiful out look on life and the cutest sense of humor! Her book Alive in Five has been a staple of mine for several years now. Every time I’m with Angela is a fun time! I’m honored to have her sharing her story of her journey in raw foods with us! One of my favorite answers was, to the question:
