Prep Time: 25 minutes
Soak Time: 2 hours minimum

Serves 2

Ingredients

1 banana
2-3 pears
2 tablespoons hulled hemp seed
1 bag of frozen raspberries
2.5 cups pure water
1 teaspoon super foods of choice
small bunch of arugula lettuce leafs
Liquid stevia to taste

Directions

Put all ingredients in a high speed blender. Add enough water so that all ingredients are covered. Blend well.

Arugula lettuce and pear are an excellent combination. Very delicious and nutritious smoothie. You might try this combo in a salad too. (more…)

Ingredients

2 bananas
2 tablespoons hulled hemp seed
1 bag of frozen blue berries
2.5 cups pure water
1 teaspoon super foods of choice
5 leafs of kale/lettuce or dandelion

Directions

Put all ingredients in a high speed blender. Add enough water so that all ingredients are covered. Blend well. You may want to add a little more water if you like your smoothie thinner. (more…)

Crust

  • 1 1/2 Cups Pecans
  • 1/3 Cup Raisins
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • Salt

Filling

  • 1/2 Cup Soft Dates, pitted and packed
  • 1/2 Cup Agave
  • 1/4 Cup Lemon Juice
  • 2 Cups Cashews, soaked 2 hours, drained
  • 1/2 Cup Young Coconut Meat
  • 1 Tablespoon Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • 1/2 Cup Coconut Oil, warmed to liquid
  • 1/2 Cup Irish Moss Paste*
  • Pumpkin Topping
  • 3/4 Cup Pumpkin, chopped
  • 1/4 Cup Carrots, peeled and chopped
  • 6 Tablespoons Water
  • 2 teaspoons Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 Cup Dates, soaked
  • 1 Teaspoon Pumpkin Pie Spice

Stop! Don’t Throw That Recipe Away!

Today, we are going to give you some really useful tips to save any recipe from becoming a disaster.

Have you ever made a recipe that you found online, or in a recipe book, that was a total disaster? Trust us, it happens, even to us when we’re experimenting with recipes. We’ve been sent a lot of raw recipe books to review on the blog, and after trying out some of the recipes in these books, we can say that at least 25% of recipes in fancy raw recipe books published by big publishing houses and found in bookstores have recipes that are disasters.

Some of these disasters could be a typo, but it could be just a bad recipe… you never know!

Maybe they listed too much oil or the wrong amount of spices, or maybe it asked for way too many bulbs of garlic and everything tastes like garlic no matter what you do!

We’ve been there. And after today, you will never have to face that sad moment of tossing out all of that hard work and money.

Here’s a delicious carrot juice recipe. And as with most of the recipes on this website, very easy and quick to make.

Ingredients

1 bunch of carrots with greens
1/2 lemon
About 1/3 inch fresh ginger

Directions

Wash the carrots thoroughly. Cut of the greens and save half for juicing.

Peel the ginger and lemon with a knife.

Put all ingredients in your juicer. Mix. Drink immediately.

Enjoy.

These are the best raw chocolates. I make them myself and consider it a healthy alternative to store bought chocolates.

Recipe

    1/2 cup of raw chocolate powder (or mix with raw carob powder, 1/3 carob, 2/3 chocolate)
    1/2 cup coconut oil
    2 tbs raw almond butter
    1 teaspoon raw honey (for taste)
    1 drropper liquid stevia (for sweetness)
    pinch salt
    1 tablespoon vanilla extract (optional)

First warm up the coconut butter (au bain marie) until it becomes a liquid. Then pour in your blender. Add the honey, stevia, vanilla and salt. Mix briefly in your blender. Then add the almond butter. Blend again on low speed or with hand. (more…)
